We coach and teach Tucson's youth valuable teamwork and goal setting skills that they can use throughout their lives, not just on the field.

Games for the second half of the season will start January 15th and go until the last week of February.

The following is a list of things Lydia needs from all of the coaches:

1. Feedback on Fun Day. As soon as practice starts.

2. Team names to be given to Lydia after your first or second practice.

3. Give Lydia a phone number to contact for rainy day cancellations.

Lydia can be reached via this site and her username, preferrable, or by 370-3255. Her email lydia.soccer@gmail.com is linked to this site.

Just a few important things...

We still have two more weeks of games and a Saturday event (now scheduled on the 8th) before we break for the Holidays.  If you have to cut the next couple of weekday games short because of the lack of light, that's fine.   For U6 - Now would be a good time to start having the teams switch direction at half time.

In January, games will start again on Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th.  I recommend practicing (once or twice) in the week prior to games starting, but that is up to you.   The season will run through February.  We will end the season with a Saturday event on March 1st, which will include a game, the parade, and a trophy ceremony.   (Please note that March 1st is the weekend of Pima Cup, which is a tournament in town that older siblings of your players might be in.  You can tell your parents that like to plan ahead, that our event will be from 10am to noon on March 1st.)

1. December 1st is our Fun Day.  It is a SATURDAY event.  Each team will have a game followed by the parade.  Please make a banner or something for the kids to walk around with.  This is a good day for parents to bring cameras.

For U6... games will start at 10:00 am and will be on the normal game day fields.  Which field you are on and who you are playing is listed on the schedule. The parade will start at 11:00 (so if you start your game late, you need to end by 11:00 regardless).  The parade will not take long, and you should be done by 11:15.

There is not going to be a practice on Tuesday the 20th of November or a game on the 22nd.  Everybody have a great Thanksgiving!  Feel free to call me if you have any questions, 991-1674.  Or contact me through this site or at Ted@athleteinyou.com

First Game

So the first game this week was good for the kids I think.  Nothing like a win!  Not that we are keeping track!  But I hope all the kids had fun.  I would love to hear feedback from anyone that has suggestions on how to run the games in any different way, or if when you got home, there was any discontent from the kids.  I want to make it fun for all of them and hopefully make sports a fun part of their lives.  So I open myself to suggestions from the team.  Personally I think we have a great team of kids.  Which speaks volumes of you parents.  See you next Tuesday for practice.

Youth Soccer Drills

I am starting to coach my son's soccer team and wanted to know what others have done to make practice fun for these future stars?!?!
