you can do it at any age.

Did everyone see Dara Torres break her own American Record last week in the 50 free??  Amazing for several reasons...

1. ok, her age..40 years old.  That isn't old but it seems so when her main competition is just out of college.

2.  She just had a baby!  Actually, I think that might have helped her but still, how does she get enough rest??

3.  Because focus and determination are incredibly difficult to master, especially after already making  it to the games 4 times!!

4.  Seriously, training...that is just plain crazy!

Now, i have to say, many people have asked me if I am planning a comeback.  I sit back a chuckle a bit and then reply, "Yes, I plan on being the first 5 month pregnant woman to race at Nationals."  Even if I wasn't pregnant, I just don't have it in me to do it.  I don't have the desire, the focus or maybe it is the desire to focus...who knows.  Maybe it would be a lot different if I swam the 100 and 50.  I mean really, me, swim the 200 fly right now.  Just thinking about it makes me tired.

My hat goes off to all of you athlete's out there...whether you are in the middle of a comeback or not.  stay strong, think of Dara and go kick som bootie.

Turning 40

I am turning 40 this year and still have dreams of PRs!!  Since I have never given my all to sport, with work and family and other committments, I think I still have room to improve.  Especially the aerobic system.  It only diminishes slightly as we get older.

I am young and still belive

Dara Torres

I read that article and was really hoping that you would comment on her achievement. I like what you have to say.
