Stretching
Ok so here it goes I bet this sounds stupid. I am a triathlete, and mainly enjoy the running for now. Well my legs are pretty well developed after a couple of years of solid training, but I never really thought about stretching. It seemed like a hassel, and I would rather spend that time playing ultimate frisbee or something fun.
Anyway, recently one of my friends talked me into going to yoga, and I think the class was an hour which gave me a chance to observe how my body (very unflexible apparently) reacted to trying to stretch. Here is what I am wondering about, when I sit on the ground and try to touch me toes there is a vein in my lower leg that leaves and indentation where it would usually be visible . Does this mean that I could break my veins or am I just being silly.

Cool, I bet you thought
Cool, I bet you thought that I was a dumbass with that question.
Viens breaking!
The veins in our body are very pliable and can stretch an amazing amount. Most likely what you are seeing is your vien, probably the saphenous, being emptied. Meaning with a stretch, you may be causing an obstruction at your ankle that is keeping it from filling while the blood is draining well up high. Just as your veins get larger when you place a tourniquet up high obstructing return. Keep up the stretching! You are at no risk with your viens!
