Weekend training
It's getting harder to get outside as the temps. are dropping. Planning for a race and having to bundle up in cold weather riding gear is hard. When you bundle up, it's hard to train fast or at higher tempos because the extra clothing restricts me so much and the colder air is harder for me to step it up - hence why my bodyfat % goes up or it could be the extra Ben and Jerry's during this time of year. I am not sure I will have to keep researching this.
However, this weekend in Reno, NV was pleasant. I was able to get about 56 miles on the bike this Saturday. I kept it pretty flat and rode into Sparks, NV and the communities of Wingfield Springs (nice golf course community).
Sunday, I put in a little of 13 miles worth of running. I ran with a friend who is new to longer distance running and preparing for the Las Vegas marathon in December. Ran a little over 8 min pace and did the run in 1hr. 45 min's and it was a very comfortable run for me.
These longer runs no matter how comfortable still hurt my toes and hips quite a bit but my endurance fitness is pretty good right now.
Today (Monday), I lifted lightly in the gym (Gold's gym) and swam about 1 1/4miles. Later in the afternoon ran about 3 1/2miles during a fairly windy day.
