Training with a Team

I am a member of the TriCats of the University of Arizona and have found that training with a team is, personally, so much more effective than training without one.

For example, last night we had a swim workout that was kind of exhaustive of my swimming energy and abilities.  Without working out there as part of a Team Practice, there is no way I would have put that much intensity into the 50's repeats we were doing...  Just no way!  lol

I am thankful for the TriCats.

Climbing Mount Lemmon

Gah!  Terrified!

rest

yeah, rest is kind of a mental game at this point for me.  but once i'm out there going easy i definitely appreciate it.  it helps that i have a race this weekend...so i can rationalize the rest as helping me for that specific event.  although, soon enough when we're climbing mt. lemmon I'm sure we'll be begging for some rest days/weeks.

Ahhh, yes, Kosuke's stop watch

lol, Matt, you are funny.  Laughing

And Elyse, yes, ma'am, we definitely earn a hearty dinner at every swim practice! Don't forget to bring those TriSports water bottles we got on Saturday to the workouts, even if we're drenched in water the whole time!  Rehydrating is so very important!

P.S.- Coach says this is a rest week.  You know, this might sound crazy, but that's going to be kinda tough for me to pull back from the workouts!  What about you guys??

I definitely agree with

I definitely agree with yall. I didn't want to keep going at all. I don't think I've ever been at a swim that difficult. We definitely earned that dinner at chipotle.

I hear ya, those 50 repeats

I hear ya, those 50 repeats were tough...and I would have definitely eased up if Kosuke hadn't been there with his stop watch.
