Back in "action."
After 20 years (not counting High School and before), I finally took a break from training. I didn't really need it, I just needed to take it. It was time to put someone besides myself, first in my life. It's been awesome. That said, it's time to "get back on the horse," albeit at a reduced level.
Of course I've stayed in shape - mostly running - to the tune of 2-3, 4 mile runs per week . . . most weeks. There's been the occasional ride (1-2 per month before about 6 months ago), too. Swimming however, has been limited to sessions with the kids. Over the past three years I've perfected my splashing technique, I can throw a 5 year old about 10 feet in the air, I can swim under water, in shark stealth mode, for a looong time, and I can beat my 3 year old across the kiddie pool - but just barely.
Anyway, I'll use this blog to log my workouts and future race plans. That's right - you heard it here first - I'm itching to get back to some racing of some sort.
My "job" allows me to watch some of the best triathletes in the world battle it out, so I'll include some tidbits about that, too.
That's all for now.

It seems like there are so
It seems like there are so many endurance athletes on this site. I am thinking about getting into the multi-sport lifesyle. It would be great to see some good workout training for people looking to get into the sport and also some interviews with accomplished athletes.
What kind of racing
What kind of racing? Xterra or International or Ironman or something else?
For those of you who are
For those of you who are reading this blog and are wondering who this Jimmy guy is, it is Jimmy Riccitello, former world xterra champion, i think...
